Need a break from busy days and screens?
Looking for something relaxing to do outside with your family?

Join us at Viles Arboretum for slow-paced, guided walk through the woods, where you and your kids can slow down, breath fresh air, and notice the little things in nature like birdsong, leaves rustling, and the way the light filters through the trees. It’s a chance to relax, reconnect, and spend meaningful time outdoors, together.

Led by certified Forest Therapy Guide, Constance Woodworth, you'll be encouraged to engage in activities like silent observation, mindful breathing, and guided reflection. 

This walk is designed for all ages, regardless of experience or fitness level - just a willingness to embrace the calming and grounding benefits of nature.

Individuals, couples, and families are welcome to join! All participants must be registered. Children 14 years old and younger are FREE!

About the Instructor

Constance Woodworth is a certified Forest Therapy Guide from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Program based in California and is currently studying to become a Maine Master Naturalist.

We'll move at a gentle pace, with pauses for reflection and simple prompts to help you stay present and connected. It's a chance to reset your mind, breathe deeply, and enjoy the beauty of the morning in a new way.

Mindful Sunset Nature Walk

Unwind at the end of the day witha quiet, guided walk through the Arboretum's trails as the sun begins to set. The walk offers a chance to slow your pace, clear your mind, and take in the changing light, evening sounds, and natural stillness that comes with dusk. 

We'll move intentionally, pausing often with simple prompts to help you notice more of your surroundings and be fully present in the moment. It's a calming way to transition into the evening and connect with nature before the day ends.

Season’s End Guided Walk

Join us for a reflective evening walk in honor of Samhain, the seasonal turning point that marks the end of harvest and the beginning of the darker half of the year. As daylight fades, we'll move quiety through the Arboretum's trails, taking time to notice the changes in the landscape and reflect on the themes of transition, stillness, and renewal. 

This guided walk includes gentle primpts to help you connect with the natural world and the shifting season. We'll take our time, moving at a slow pace and pausing often to observe and reflect.
